I come from a long line of strong, amazing women, who are wonderfully talented in the kitchen. I literally hung from my grandmother’s apron strings as she canned spaghetti sauce, pickles, peaches, salsa, and apple butter (just to name a few).
Hi, I’m Meryn!
The kitchen is a wonderful place to love, learn and connect with your family. Some of my most memorable moments of childhood and teen years are spent in the kitchen with my Grandma, Mom, and Sister. Life lessons can be taught while at the dinner table, and love can be shown while eating dessert.
Now that I have my own family and kitchen, I carry on those recipes I learned growing up, something I love to share with my friends and family. My creations are made with fresh, quality ingredients. Hopefully from the garden! I’m still trying to gain that green thumb!
My Mission
My kids don’t know how well they have it! I remember the first time I made cheese fondue for my family, I was so proud of the fancy, gourmet experience I created for dinner that night. My oldest son, 5 years old at the time, cried and cried. “Why can’t you just be a normal mom and cook real food?!” he exclaimed.
My children may have eaten (unwillingly) far too many fancy things. Ingredients reserved for finer restaurants, and delicate palates. But I would like to think that through all of those meals that I make them try, they have experienced more of the world around them. And learned of many flavors in different cultures and cuisines.
Above all else, I hope that they know they have a mom who has a passion for good food, and shows her love by creating beautiful, delicious things for them to eat.
